Qayya Academy is a consultancy service that offers private English language courses, English language immersion programs, and study abroad assistance tailored to the needs of the students. We are highly proficient in both professional and academic English with over twenty years of instruction in the field and established connections with prominent universities in the United States, South Africa, and Canada.

Scheduling is very flexible, and classes are available from anywhere in the world. While our primary area of operation is French West Africa, we have had students from all over the African continent, the Middle East, and Asia.

How Our Immersion Programs Work In 3 Simple Steps

Submit Application
We will organize your trip, apply to relevant partner universities, and submit all the paperwork for you.
You will be provided with the full program details before you submit your application so you know exactly what to expect.

Apply For Visa & Depart
Obtain and submit documentation for your visa application (if required).
We will apply for you (where possible) and keep you informed at every stage.
Once your visa is secured, your next step is to embark on your journey.
At Qayya Academy, all immersion programs are through reputable universities in native speaking countries. All programs are customizable to your needs, whether you want to study for 2 weeks or 6+ months.
We currently organize trips to Canada, South Africa, and the United States. If you are interested in a country we do not yet have listed, please contact us for assistance.
Please note: due to the changing political climate in the United States, first-time visa applicants face an increased likelihood of rejection. If you do not already hold a valid US visa, we recommend submitting concurrent applications to alternative destinations like Canada or South Africa to safeguard against a possible visa refusal.

Curriculum & Schedule

At Qayya Academy all courses are personal, yet remote. All sessions are conducted online with your instructor in real-time.
If you are in Senegal and would like to inquire about in-person or group courses, please contact us.
Because your class is customized to meet your needs, there are no textbooks to buy. All course materials will be provided for you by the instructor. The student must have a computer and internet access. A printer is helpful, but not necessary.
Depending on your needs, session rates vary, starting at $50/hour for individuals and $75/hour for businesses.

About Our Founder & Primary Instructor
Mrs. Ruqayya Abdus-Salaam is an American, English language instructor, TOEFL trainer, and Presentation Coach with more than 20 years of experience in teaching and administration in the higher education industry of Senegal. She has a strong background in standardized test preparation (TOEFL, TOEIC, SAT, GED, and Hi-Set) and academic advising for international students. In addition to her primary teaching positions, she has served as an instructor at many institutions in Senegal. As a business and professional English instructor, Mrs. Abdus-Salaam has extensive experience working with executives in mastering business communication and presentation skills. She has been the instructor of choice for many prominent professional and political figures in West Africa.
