Academic English is a comprehensive field that covers all aspects of the academic experience, from verbal interactions during class registration and dorm check-in to classroom participation and assignment completion. This includes reading texts, writing papers, listening to lectures, and engaging with professors. The ability to communicate effectively in English, both within the classroom and in daily campus life, is precisely what tests like the TOEFL assess. Our preparation courses address all four essential language skills.

The key to learning how to write academically in English is learning to understand the “thought process” behind the steps in “the writing process”. If a student can understand what they should be thinking and what action to take along with that thought, they will be able to understand how to write effective academic papers.
I teach students how to think while breaking the academic writing process down into its parts, making it easy to draft any paper. This process makes writing 30 pages no different than writing 3.
